n January 1986, we felt God leading us to start a church. So we started having meetings in a storefront building in the city of Hurst,Texas.
We started out in Hurst as "Hurst Hills Baptist Church." We met in a store front for most of the time but were also forced to move around some. Those years were extremely difficult, but God continued to help us and we continued to see people saved.
Then in July 1998 we found our present location and through a series of miracles, God enabled us to purchase our own place. We found an old house on about an acre of land in the middle of Richland Hills. Because we had moved out of the city of Hurst into a neighbouring city we felt a name change to be appropriate and we decided on Messiah Baptist Church.
With not much more then a vision of possibilities we started to work and one man's trash became the treasure of Messah Baptist Church.
Promise
It is our goal to Preach and Teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus is the "Messiah" promised in the Old Testament. He is our Lord and Savior and we seek to lift him up in Word and Deed. It is also our desire to simply help God's People in their daily walk. We believe God's promises are sure and they still apply to his people who are called by his name. We believe God promises abundant life to all who will trust in him.
We are busy trying to find ways to tell this wonderful news, that Jesus still has the power to save both our physical life and spiritual life. We not only spread the Gospel from our church, we also support missionary families around the world along with one orphanage all sharing the love of God in Christ.
